Bespoke ceremony writing | ‘The Why’
Have you ever considered that it’s entirely possible to get married, have your child named or renew your vows without anyone explaining why it means so much to do it? So I designed ‘The Why’: a reflective section, written with your words, offering insight and adding significance to any ceremony script. LGBTQ+ inclusive.
When you express why a ceremony matters, it not only develops your relationship with it, but makes witnessing it so much more meaningful as well.
Many of the 500+ testimonials featured in this site, my Instagram and anniversary collection verify this – both from the point of view of the clients, before, during and long after their day, and their guests.
I tend to ask clients to answer questions privately and jointly (if applicable), meaning both your individual voices and shared perspective comes through the text.
‘We’re so happy you were part of our day. So many commented how amazing the wedding ceremony was – the perfect way for us to share how we see marriage with those important to us. We couldn’t have asked for more.’

Bespoke ceremony writing ideas like this also present a valuable opportunity to talk in depth about your emotions, motivations and expectations with one another beforehand.
I’d then interweave your written responses, creating a bespoke non-religious ceremony element that could be comfortably accommodated by any Registrar or Vicar.
When life throws them challenges, clients often say they’ve turned to this: writing that anchored a particularly happy memory for them. It means that much.
The fee I’d charge for your ‘Why’ would be decided by its complexity and length but £160-£260 (800-1,600 words) offers a helpful ballpark – flexible payment arrangements are usually available.
